Two Pelsall men have set off on a 300 mile bike ride today to raise money for St Giles Walsall Hospice in memory of their friend.
Jeff Bluck, who died in November last year from a brain tumour, was a keen cyclist.
To honour his memory, Jeff’s friends, Jamie Holford and Adrian
Thomas, have begun their ride at Llandudno Pier and aim to make their way back to Pelsall on their mountain bikes over four days, taking in the various mountain bike courses and camping sites Jeff used to ride and visit.
They will be supported on the ride by Jeff’s family, who will be fundraising in various towns along the route, hoping to raise as much money as possible for St Giles Walsall Hospice.
They are asking for as many people as possible to join them at the Tackeroo site on Cannock Chase on Saturday July 28, to ride with them on their final leg back to Pelsall.
There will be fun day at Pelsall Labour Club on Saturday, between the hours of 11am and 4pm, to coincide with their return. Activities will include a car boot sale, kids’ fun rides, bouncy castle, face painting, a burger bar, a DJ and a raffle.
Anyone wishing to sponsor Jamie and Adrian can also do so via Remembering Jeffrey Bluck page on the Just Giving website.
- In January this year, a balloon race was held on what would have been Jeffrey’s birthday.
