The six Year 9 girls – all aged 13 and 14 – all donned bright clothing to complete three laps of the park’s lake on Saturday, cheered on by family members.

Organiser Emily Cambridge, aged 13, of Winterley Lane, Rushall, said they came up with the idea of the sponsored skip because they were keen to do something fun to raise cash for the charity.

“It’s a great way to raise some money to help other children around the country,” she said. “We were really tired after doing it, but it was good fun!”

The official Children In Need day is on Friday, November 19.
