Get out the platform shoes, flares and blue eye shadow: the Mayor of Walsall is hosting an Abbagirls Night in Pelsall next month.

Tickets are still available for the fundraiser which is taking place at Pelsall Community Centre on Saturday 5 March.

Councillor Gary Clarke has sent out an SOS for Abba fans to snap up tickets and support his Mayoral Appeal to benefit Walsall Hospice and disadvantaged children.

The Mayor said: “Tickets are still available to all the Dancing Queens and Super Troupers across the borough and I hope they’ll join me for a super night.”

Deputy Mayor of Walsall, Councillor Garry Perry, who is a keen Abba fan, added: “It’s a night that will appeal to all ages although we would say Does Your Mother Know to young fans who are still at school as it will be a late night!”

Tickets cost £10 and doors open at 7pm with the show set to start at 7.30pm at the centre in Station Road.

There is a licensed bar and guests are asked to dress Smart Casual.

Tickets are available from the Mayor’s Office on 01922 652072 or by calling into the Mayor’s Parlour at Walsall Council House, Lichfield Street.
