The house captains at the academy school sent out a plea to all pupils and staff to spare one of their Easter eggs for a good cause.

Jessica Gnosill, a year 6 pupil, said they couldn’t believe it when 370 eggs were sent in, which included a generous donation from Pelsall’s local One-Stop shop.

“We couldn’t believe our eyes!” said Jessica.

Staff and pupils delivered the eggs to patients at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Sandwell Young Carers.

Yvonne Smith, Administration Manager, of Sandwell Young Carers said: “We have 46 children under the age of 12, caring for sick and disabled relatives. It means a lot to us all here that these young pupils have stopped to think about other children of their own age, in less fortunate circumstances.”
