Footpath improvements in Shelfield Park

Footpaths improvements across Shelfield Park have been completed.

The £40,000 new footpath has been constructed from the Parkstone Close entrance of the park, linking to Brook Meadow Road and another new path has been created to link the Parkstone Close entrance to Mere View.

Walsall Council has funded the improvements, which included a £10,000 contribution from Cleansing Service Group (CSG).

Graham Hood, Walsall Council head of greenspaces, said: “The work started in January and was completed on schedule at the end of March.

“It will benefit children and their parents who use these paths to get to their local schools.

“The Friends of Shelfield Park and the Shelfield Playing Field Charity supported the project – the friends group has worked for years to provide facilities and improve the park’s environment.”
