Work on the new £4 million health centre, children’s centre and library in Pelsall is due to start on July 4.
Councillor Marco Longhi has received confirmation from Sue Grainger, Walsall Council’s head of library services, that ISG contractors will begin the work.
It will mean the closure of the existing car park, next to the old library building, from Wednesday, June 28, however.
The library is now based in the former neighbourhood office, Norton Road, Pelsall. Opening hours are:
Tuesday: 9am-1pm; 2-6pm
Wednesday: 9am-1pm; 2-6pm
Friday: 9am-1pm; 2-6pm
Saturday: 9am-1pm; 2-4pm
The library can also be contacted on 01922 650455 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The new centre is a joint project between Walsall Council, NHS Walsall and Serco. It will create a one stop facility for health, information, learning and child and family development.
It is estimated that work will be completed in Autumn 2012.
