Collapsed drain causes Norton Road closure

Norton Road in Pelsall is closed due to a collapsed drain.

Engineers from Walsall Council have cordoned off the road and diversions are in place, although there have been reports of drivers moving the closure bollards to try to get through this morning.

Update, 4.15pm: A spokesman for South Staffordshire Water said investigations would continue this evening to see exactly where the damage is coming from.

If the problem is related to drinking water pipes, South Staffs will repair it; if it is a sewage pipe, the responsibility falls to Severn Trent; if it is rain water, it will be Walsall Council

Resurfacing work at Church Road, Pelsall

Meanwhile, Church Road is closed at its junction with Hall Lane for resurfacing.
