Schoolgirls to dance at tumbling championships

Two Pelsall schoolgirls are to perform at the opening ceremony of The World Trampoline and Tumbling Championships next month.

Amber Millard, aged nine, and Madeleine Smith, aged eight,  at the event, which takes place at the NIA, Birmingham.

The girls, who attend Ryders Hayes School, Pelsall and Walsall Academy of Dance, were selected from amongst their students to participate in this prestigious event. Christa Collard, Principal of the Dance Academy, said that it was because of their commitment that Amber and Madeleine excelled above others.

They will welcome athletes from around the world with their display, Flight: Dance of the Skies, which explores the history of aviation.

Headteacher Jo Speller said: “This will be a wonderful opportunity for them to work collaboratively with other talented young people from across Birmingham and the West Midlands to welcome athletes from around the world.”
