Could you be the next Pelsall Carnival Queen?

The search is on for a new Carnival Queen for 2012.

Budding beauty queens can now apply to vye for the role and represent Pelsall Carnival Committee, taking over from Zoe Dalloway, who was crowned last year, along with her maids of honour, Kathryn Cox of Oak Road, Pelsall, and Antonia Dodsworth, of Pelsall Lane.

The competition takes place at Pelsall Community Centre on Sunday, April 29 and there are contests for three different age groups.

Pelsall girls ONLY are invited to enter the Carnival Rosebud and Carnival Princess contests. Rosebuds must be aged between six and ten, while princesses should be 11-14.

The contest for Carnival queen is open to anyone between 15-25, although professional models are ineligible to apply.

Various prizes are up for grabs, including £100 for the winner, £50 for the runner-up and £25 for the third place entrant.

Last year, Amie Moorhouse from Wolverhampton Road, Pelsall, was crowned Carnival Princess, while Lauren Rattenberry, also Wolverhampton Road, and Grace Gower, from Autumn Drive, Pelsall, were chosen as the Rosebuds.

The carnival takes place in the village on July 7, 2012.
