Councillor contacts brewery over Railway Inn closure

A local councillor has written to the owners of the Railway Inn, which shut its doors suddenly last week, to ask for information about the mystery closure.

Coun Garry Perry told Facebook Group The Railway Inn Pelsall MUST Reopen that he had contacted Enterprise Inns about the Victoria Road pub.

In his email to the Solihull-based brewery he said: “The sudden closure of this popular local pub has shocked many amongst our community more so the regular customers and those who hold the pub in high regard.

“Locally this pub has always had a fond and sound reputation, it has never given cause for concern and its idlyllic location on the edge of the common drew many admirers.

“It is strongly hoped that the Railway does not remain closed for long and that the mystery surrounding the sudden closure is lifted.

“I would be most grateful of any information that you are able to provide in the very least to enable the loyal customers and friends of the Railway Inn to know what is going on and the brewery’s intentions.”

The Facebook group, launched by regulars of the pub, has 390 members.
