Meet and greet volunteers sought at new Pelsall Village Centre

Volunteers are being sought to help ‘meet and greet’ customers at the new Pelsall Village Centre.

The Library Services wants to recruit local people in the Pelsall area to help support the library and Pelsall Village Centre.

Residents age 16+ in the Pelsall area are being asked to come forward by completing an application form.

The main role of the volunteers will be to “meet and greet” customers at Pelsall Village Centre, help them with directional inquiries within the Centre and assist library users with the self service library facilities.

The new library will be open five days per week from when it opens in late autumn.

Volunteers will be asked to “sign up” for a regular weekly three-hour session, these are anticipated Tuesday to Friday either 9am-noon, noon-3pm or 3-6pm, and Saturdays 9am-noon or noon-3pm.

Councillor Anthony Harris, portfolio holder for leisure with Walsall Council’s Coalition, said: “This is a great opportunity for local people who want to help out in their local communities to get involved with a service that is open to everyone. They will be providing support to library staff at this exciting new venue.”
