Minute’s silence at Cenotaph to mark death of Lee Rigby

A minute’s silence is to be held at the Cenotaph tomorrow (June 1) to mark the death of Drummer Lee Rigby.

It has been organised by the Pelsall branch of the Royal British Legion and takes place at 11am. People are invited to begin gathering at the Cenotaph from 10.45am. Poppy crosses will be sold on the day.

A Book of Condolence to Drummer Rigby has also been placed in the library at the Pelsall Village Centre from today (May 31) for anyone who wishes to sign it. it will be there for two weeks.

Drummer Rigby was killed near Woolwich barracks on May 22. One man has been charged with murder, while another suspect remains under arrest in hospital.

Coun Garry Perry’s advice surgery will take place from 9.45 – 10.45am to enable him to attend the minute’s silence.
