Major roadworks are scheduled to begin in Pelsall next week. Details below:

This needs to be completed before the carriageway can be resurfaced.

The extent of the phase one work will span between the junctions of School Lane and the Fingerpost, the work will also extend a short distance into the 4 arms of the traffic signal junction.

Progress will be dependent on fair weather conditions but it is anticipated that this phase of the work will be completed some time during November 2013.  The scope of the scheme may extend beyond the School Lane junction but this will depend on site conditions and how well work is able to progress.

Phase two Wolverhampton Road highway maintenance scheme

It is anticipated that reconstruction of kerbs and footways will commence during February 2014, however the Council has had to take into account the winter weather which is likely to hamper progress. Carriageway work is programmed for spring 2014 following the completion of these footway works.

Temporary Traffic Management

Phase one footway work will be carried out during the daytime, with some work being carried out during the weekend with the road open to traffic 24 hours.

There will, however, be a need to operate temporary traffic signals or stop/go boards from time to time.

There will inevitably be some disruption to motorists; the working pattern will however avoid peak traffic periods during the am and pm rush. This work will commence on 16th September 2013 and will continue until early November 2013.

Phase one carriageway reconstruction work will be carried out during the evening and night time under a full road closure; traffic will be open as normal for daytime traffic.  This work will provisionally commence during the second week of November 2013 and will last for a period of 3 weeks.

Phase two footway work will be carried out during the daytime with the road open to traffic 24 hours. There will be a need to operate temporary traffic signals or stop/go boards from time to time. There will inevitably be some disruption to motorists, particularly during peak traffic periods during am and pm rush hour. This work will commence during February 2014 and will continue until the end of March 2014.

Phase two carriageway reconstruction work will be carried out during the evening and night time under a full road closure; traffic will be open as normal for daytime traffic.  This work will be carried out during spring 2014 and will last for a period of 4 weeks.
