A disappointing response to Pelsall’s planned food festival this month has led to it being cancelled.
The event was due to take place on October 27 and was to feature Great British Bake-Off finalist Brendan Lynch as judge for a cake-baking competition.
Coun Garry Perry, who was organising the event, said: “Regrettably the Pelsall Food Festival event due to take place on the 27th October has been cancelled.
“The number of stall bookings to date stands at 7 – given that over 100 requests were sent out, plus 60 booking forms and promotion on various social media sites this is quite disappointing.
“The associated costs with organising the event would no where near be covered by the current number of stalls booked.”
He said he hoped to invite Brendan Lynch to another event next year.
Coun Perry also urged people wanting to help organise events in the village to contact him.
