Junior pupils at St Michael’s School are preparing for their most ambitious performance yet: the full version of Joseph.
This year, staff decided to stage the full version of a musical and not a children’s one. Every child from years 3-6, all aged seven – 11, will take to the stage next week (December 10 and 11).
It is the first time the school has tackled such an ambitious project, said headteacher Ros Hutchinson.
“This will be the first time that we have performed a full musical as such so it is very exciting but also very challenging,” she said
“As ever the staff and parent body have been hugely supportive helping with props, scenery and costumes but the real stars as always are the children.
“We have a number of soloists who are very impressive but the score requires that the other children make a significant contribution as part of the chorus and so the show relies on each and every one of them to do their bit. It will be wonderful.”
Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1 will also perform nativities.
