Pelsall-based Rio Driving Tuition, founded by Paul Fisher, won the Best Of … 2014 UK’s Most Loved Driving School after receiving commendations and recommendations from clients.

Rio (which stands for Right Instruction Only) was launched in 2010 but two years later expanded to become Safe Driver UK Ltd and now has four instructors.

Paul, who is formally trained in neuro-linguistic programming and clinical hypnosis and is a former senior care specialist, decided to use those skills to help nervous learners behind the wheel.

“I now regularly use carefully crafted sentences when teaching nervous people to drive to make them feel much more relaxed.  I also offer hypnotic trance sessions to combat pre-test nerves so that the candidate can perform to the best of their ability,” he said.

“We all feel very privileged to be making positive changes with people who are nervous about driving.  Winning this award is testament to all our hard work and dedication.”

Last year, Rio won “Most Loved Driving School in the West Midlands”, narrowly missing the UK title by just three votes.

The Mayor of Walsall, Coun Mohammed Nazir, presented Paul with his award at a ceremony at the Mayor’s Parlour.
